.69 cal, converted and rifled at Farankfort Arsenal, converted using the Maynard tape priming system with locks manufactured by Remington, 42 inch barrel, lock marked "Remington/Ilion, N.Y./1857/U.S.", finished bright overall, walnut stock, correct sights and ram rod, "N.J." marked on barrel, cartouches on stock on left side and at the top tang of the butt plate, 1857.
Condition: very good rifling with black powder oxidation, barrel is smooth silver gray with strong oxidation around percussion nipple, plum silver lock, tape primer functyions, very good stock, very good marks.
