Description:
This U.S. Springfield Model 1888 is a right-hand trapdoor rifle in .45-70 Gov't Cal. The beautifully patinaed 32.5" barrel features a hooded blade front sight, a numbered vertical sliding middle sight and a fixed notch rear sight. The forearm is smooth walnut with an integrated bayonet. The buttstock is a smooth grip walnut English grip stamped "1892" and "8 NY 143". The initials "J L" are carved into the stock which has a metal buttplate with storage and tools. .45-70 Government
