SOLD A good shootin' Springfield Arrmory Trapdoor .45-70 rifle dated 1884 on the breech and the has a 32 1/2" barrel with a clean, shiny, strong rifled bore. The exterior metal is mottled blue mixed with some brown patina, but smooth metal. Lock-up is solid and appears to be complete and origoinal, with an 1873 cleaning rod. This fine gun has the 1873 rear sight, and the American black walnut stock is clean with numerous field handling dings from military use. The lock-plate has the 1873 date. Overaall a good solid example that would make a good shooter. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
