.30-40 Krag Carbine | 22" Barrel | Serial 79215 October 1897 Production — Close to 5th U.S. Volunteer Infantry Issue
This Krag is not a parts gun—it remains all original as issued, with the exception of the handguard and sight, which were removed long ago and lost to history.
Condition Highlights

Barrel retains much of its original blue
Bore is bright, with strong lands and grooves and no pitting
Carbine shows honest use but no abuse
Cartouche is present, though faint,Sharper finger groves, never saded
Unaltered screws
Correct 1896 bolt with strong blue on the extractor

A solid, early-production Krag with a serial number very close to those issued to the 5th U.S. Volunteer Infantry, which served in Cuba from August 10, 1898 to March 20, 1899.
Excellent candidate for restoration or as a high?quality parts source.
