Springfield U.S. Model 1884 Trapdoor 45-70. Ramrod bayonet.
Description: Excellent Springfield 1884 Trapdoor 45-70 caliber. S/N 527710 made in 1891. All original finishes are in excellent condition, showing very strong bluing and case colors, and nearly all of the original varnish with some expected handling marks. There are a couple of deeper mars on the left buttstock and along the edge of the barrel channel flat. The barrel is 32 5/8" with a near perfect mirror bore. Mechanical functions are crisp and excellent. This rifle has the scarcer ramrod bayonet with robust and precise locking mechanism which can also be used as a cleaning rod. It also has a trapdoor buttplate that holds a multi tool. Cartouches are all present and crisp with no loss. One of the nicest you will see in this condition and configuration with the ramrod bayonet. Please add $75 for expedited and fully insured shipping from Alaska. SOLD Antique: Yes |
