"Serial no. 5833616. Manufactured circa 1955–1957 by Springfield Armory, chambered in .30-06 Springfield,24"" round barrel marked “SA F6535448 9-55 A220A P M DOD Eagle." The bore is excellent with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. The bolt is stamped “6528287-SA/A15," and the receiver is marked “B3 1 B/F 6528291." The cut operating rod is correctly marked “6535382 SA," and the trigger assembly is properly Springfield Armory marked. The stock remains in very good condition, showing minimal handling wear while retaining a clear Department of Defense cartouche along with the circle “P" proof mark. This rifle represents a correct example of late post-war Springfield production M1 Garands. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
