Here is a nice Springfield M1 Garand original built in Feb 1939. 4 digit serial number 8108. Has been converted to gas port. The receiver has little to no finish. It does have the 7th round modification, in the white. It was never refinished after the modification was completed. According to a reliable source in the M1 world, there are a few examples of the 7th mod in the white existing. Not often seen and was most likely modified early in the program, possibly late 1940.
