1945/WWII Vintage Springfield M1 Garand chambered in .30-06 Springfield **Excellent Shooter with Desirable Springfield Components**
Description:
This is a great example of a WWII era Springfield Armory M1 Garand chambered in 30-06 Springfield. This World War II era M1 Garand was manufactured in 1945 by Springfield and likely saw combat during the war. This rifle has been through at least one rebuild in its life. This rifle is comprised of mostly Springfield components but somes components are of earlier manufacturing and are more desirable to collectors. These components include a "-5-SA" trigger housing, a "6 SA" op rod, a type 3 P/N 8 follower assembly, and an excellent 'In the white" February of 1944 Springfield barrel. The barrel is the "crown jewel" of this rifle and barrels of this era are seldom seen in this condition. Manufactured in February of 1944, this original Springfield barrel is in superb condition and "in the white" ,which indicates that the barrel was never refinished. The bore is incredible with sharp rifling and no visible imperfections. The throat of the barrel gauges at a "2" and the muzzle gauges at a "1" indicating that this WWII barrel is in "like new" condition. The Parkerizing is in great condition across the entirety of the rifle with the various handling/wear marks. The stock is in great condition and shows no signs of cracks, just various handling marks. The stock has no visible proofing marks or cartouche. The action is tight and the rifle is in 100% working order including the lock bar rear sight. This rifle would make an outstanding addition to a WWII collection or a fantastic shooter. PRICE: SOLD We are Antique & Modern Firearms in Lexington, KY, dealer of fine firearms since 1974.
