USGI issued gas -trap receiver serial numbered "458XX" with repro 22"(gas tap bbl length) new barrel marked "Repro 1996" on top of barrel. Early receiver re-parkerized but markings still crisp and not fading. Drawing number "D 28291-1" on leg of receiver correct. Has rear sight intact but no bolt nor other parts besides Op Rod Catch and Follower Arm which are attached to each other. NO signs of pitting or extraneous issues. Looks like someones unfinished attempt at restoring a "Gas Trap" Garand to it's former config. Repro Gas Trap cut barrels are not cheap and Pre-War Garands are hard to find considering they made 7 million of them.
