Springfield Armory M1 Garand Marked 0-66 USMC
Description: SOLD Springfield Armory M1 Garand O-66 marked Marine Corps rebuild. Serial number 42400xx, manufactured approximately 1953. Barrel is Springfield dated 2-48. Other major parts are Springfield, including the stock. All parts are described below and shown in photos. No import marks. This M1 rifle is in excellent used condition. Minimal wear on finish of moving parts and barrel measurements indicate little firing since the rebuild. The rifle has been disassembled, cleaned, lubricated, and test fired. Parts were clean for photos, coated with oil and greased where appropriate when reassembled. Sling and two M1 enbloc clips (no ammo) are included. Free shipping to FFL. C & R Eligible. Excellent condition, no pitting. Barrel: marked “S-A-2-48” in op rod slot, “D35448-37-A113C” on top, with “M” and small crossed cannons stamp. Bore is bright and shiny, excellent crown and rifling. Barrel Gauge Measurements: Muzzle Wear: 1, Throat Erosion: 2 Clip latch: early round front type. Op rod: flat side, marked “7790722-SA”, also “NM” on handle. Excellent condition, no pitting, unworn guide lug, sharp corner on piston, very little finish wear. Op rod catch: early type, unmarked Bullet guide: stamped with notch Follower: late type, unmarked Follower arm: no bevel, unmarked Follower rod: long fork, riveted Bolt: marked “D6528287 HRA .U.” Sight knobs: rare elevation marked “DRC”, windage “DRC” Rear sight cover: late type with ribs Rear sight aperture: double track Trigger housing: marked “D28290-12-SA”, no pitting. Trigger guard: stamped with stamped hook Trigger: late type, no extra hole Hammer: marked “C46008-7 SA” Hammer spring plunger: WWII type with wings Safety: round top, marked “HRA” Gas cylinder: wide sight platform, flat on top of rear ring marked “X”. Gas cylinder group finish is excellent. Front sight: 0.875 wide Gas cylinder lock: square front type, marked “M” Gas cylinder screw: cross slot, poppet valve type, marked “NHC IHC” Stock: walnut, postwar SA, armory epoxy bedding at floorplate. Strong “P” over a much lighter one on pistol grip, DAS (stars and eagle) on left side. No cracks or repairs, fewer than average dings/scratches, excellent appearance.
