This Springfield Garand , Cal 30-06, was mfg abt July 1940 and is a "Pre-War". Because this Spg Gar
is an early Gas Port version. I'm choosing to highlight some of it's early features.
Gas Cylinder - This is the 1st type of it's type Gas Cylinder it is marked w/dwg No. D-35449-SA, has narrow sight pad abt "1/2 inch. Ferrule Stock - Forged, Follower - Rev #3 w/Wide tail & unmarked, Guard, Trigger - abt 3rd Version PN C-46025-1-SA (See following pics of it) Guide - Bullet - abr Rev 6 -- PN B8875SA (See Pics), Hammer - Rev 2 abt - PN C 46006-1, Housing - Hammer Spg - Bare Metal unparkerized w/cut a way slot, Housing Safety -Flat Version abt Summer 1940 PN C46015-4SA, Trig Hsg - Plunger w/Wings,
Knob Elev - Knurled - Abt 1942 (Wartime Change) w/Closed Arroowheads but w/Screw . This is a very unique early Garand , pre-war , it should appeal to the advanced and serious collectors. This isn't
an entry level Garand. it has to my knowledge all of the correct original and component parts. Beginning w/ the gun
metal - its has the correct - Color contrasting - medium gray olive tone parkerizing, all parts almost matching.

I've obviously repeated some info regarding this very unique Spg Garand .I also have additional pics & will share any information I can to the ardent collector.
Some other info - The action is excellent and it cycles perfectly. Both the bore and throat measure 3.
