A blade front sight with protective sides and an adjustable aperture rear sight. The butt stock is a smooth walnut pistol grip. The forearm is smooth two-piece hardwood. SA Barrel dated 9 52. The rifle was manufactured Feb 45. M1D Garand sniper rifles were produced by converting standard M1 Garand rifles into a M1D configuration by installing a special M1D Sniper barrel as manufactured at Springfield Armory. This rifle does not have a scope. No box. .30-06 Springfield
