U.S. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MODEL 1898 CARBINE IN CALIBER 30-40 KRAG

Description:
Bolt action Model 1898 Carbine with 22 inch round barrel chambered in 30-40 Krag caliber that has a very good bore with strong rifling. Barrel has about 30% thinning blue remaining while the action is mostly an aged grey color. Walnut stock has several handling bruises but is solid. There is a visible cartouche on the left side and the "P" in a circle behind the triggerguard. This is a good example of one of these hard to come by original 1898 carbines. These are quite rare as there were only 5002 made and this one was made in 1899.
