SCARCE 1862 Dated U.S. SPRINGFIELD CIVIL WAR MUSKET ... LAYAWAY?
The lock is dated 1862. Standard rifle, and comes with a US stamped bayonet.

CONDITIION: Fine. All metal has been lightly cleaned and there are some minor areas of scattered areas of oxidation. All legends are legible. Stock shows no visible cartouche, has some oil darkening at buttplate and scattered light dings and impressions. Great working order. Bore is sharp with very light residue. Likely shootable bore.Fine or better bore. Barrel has been nickel plated, likely for GAR use . Plating has covered any barrel markings.
