This Model 1868 Springfield 50 Government caliber (50-70) rifle is perfect for the reenactor, shooter, or starting collector. The 32.5"" barrel has an excellent bright bore. The gun has a smooth gray-brown patina (vs. the original bright finish). The barrel and receiver are numbered 46363. The breechblock is marked 1870 over eagle over US. The standard Civil War U.S. Springfield lock is dated 1863. The buttplate, which has light roughness, has the U.S. and 17 over 118 (weak because of roughness) at the toe.
