U.S. Springfield Model 1873 Trapdoor .45-70 caliber carbine. First model trapdoor carbine chambered in .45-70 caliber. Overall great condition. Stock is in good condition with minor wear and dings. Barrel has a gray patina. Bore is in great shape with strong rifling. Buttplate has “39 N.G.G”. This could possibly stand for “National Guard Georgia”. Excellent example of a first model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor!
