The 22"" round 45 Government caliber (45-70) barrel has a fine bore with bright, strong rifling and with a little firing erosion toward the muzzle. The barrel has a smooth brown patina and the correct inspection and proof marks at the breech. It is correctly equipped with the Model 1884 carbine sight and the 1890 sight protector band. The breech block is marked MODEL 1884 and the lock has the correct U.S. over SPRINGFIELD with the eagle to the rear. The lock plate, breech block and hammer are blue. The sling ring and bar are present. The stock is very good with no cracks or chips and moderate issue wear. The action functions correctly. This one can fill that pesky hole in your collection.
