Civil War 1864 dated lock plate. U stamped on 3 barrel bands. ESA on left side of stock. Civil War 58 musket barrel reamed out and lined to accept the 50-70 Govt. Condition is spectacular. If you have seen some of these, most are beat to death or altered. This example has superb wood with no cracks and visible cartouch. Furniture in the white has nice uncleaned patina. US on top of butt plate. Mirror bore. Definately one of the bestter examples still out there. Saw Yoemen service out west, first by the military in 1866-68 and on the plains. far better condition than most. Antique
