Beautiful condition Springfield Model 1873 trapdoor rifle ACTUALLY USED in the Indian Wars during the mid-late 1880's. This rifle was my great great grandfather's while he was in the United States Calvary. He passed this rifle down to his grandson who then passed the rifle down to me. The wood is in fantastic condition and the bluing of the rifle is still good. The original bayonet that came with this rifle is also in fantastic condition considering the rifle is 136 years old. There are two notches cut into the top of the rear stock. These typically indicated kills on the battlefield. The serial number dates the manufacture to the first half of 1885. I will ship anywhere in the United States and rifle/bayonet will be well packaged. This is a fantastic addition to anyone who collects antique or military firearms.
