Nice original 1873 Springfield

Description:

Springfield 1873 Rifle. Correct R marked rear sight. All original U marked sling swivels, ram rod, & butt plate. 3 groove barrel is about a 6 and may clean up further. Breech block shows strong original oil hardened finish, serial number and U.S. Model 1873 stamp are crisp and clear. Side plate markings are legible and crisp. Barrel shows a pleasing patina. The stock shows normal marks and dings but no visible cartouche, it also has inscribed S. Carter over what I think read Co. E 9th Reg. The gun has a nice pleasing old time feel to it.
