This is an early Springfield rare cadet with a 1873 breech and 1873 rear sight stamped R, and tha very early serial number 2955. The America black walnut stock has the long wrist only seen on early guns, and when these left service they were sold as Cadet rifles for West Point, VMI, and Annapolis, and others. The action has a high breech block and a good , clean bore, good rifling and some surface corrosion not pitted out. The stock has a repair above the side lock where walnut has been pieced in to keep the gun is service. These had seen a hard life with untrained cadets! Comes with a Springfield cleaning rod. A rare early Cadet! We don’t have asite . I prefer money orders or a check. Item ships when funds come in. If you can only pay with a card let me know.
