Description: SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MODEL 1884 TRAPDOOR RIFLE chambered in 45/70 and mfg in 1892. S/N: 547623 BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED BY SHOOTER'S EXCHANGE!!! The 32.5" barrel has great bluing and a bright, clean bore with STRONG RIFLING! The metal bluing looks awesome, the firing pin has been strawed and the CASE COLORED TRAPDOOR HAS BRILLIANT COLORS!!! Iron sights are a blade front with a Buffington sight leaf for the flip up adjustible rear. The stock is in very good condition and only has light handling marks and one ding right behind the hammer(shown in pics). Gun weighs 9lbs 11oz, LOP is 13 3/8" and the trigger breaks at 5lbs. This rifle features the ROUND ROD TYPE BAYONET that extends out from under the barrel that doubles as a cleaning rod and has sling swivels present at both ends. The blued metal butt plate is engraved at the top with U.S. 46 97 and features a storage compartment for a segmented style cleaning rod which also coincedently also fits 2 spare rounds of 45-70!
