As seen in the pictures, the stock has been shortened. The balance of the stock that remains is in wonderful solid shape. Mechanically, this rifle is in nice shape. Extractor and fire and pin work freely. Bore of this rifle is not great. What little cleaning we did shows that there are dark spots, pits, and all around roughness. Please also note original rear site was removed and a v notch site added to the Tang. This would be a great donor for another restoration or barrel stock swap to bring this up to speed. This is price accordingly. As always we do not recommend modern 45-70 loads and trap doors. Those interested in just getting into this area please do your research on proper ammo for these rifles.
