Springfield Trap door 45-70 Model 1878? or 1887?
Description: This is a Springfield 45-70 Trap door. This rifle is in very good condition for the age. It has a bright shinny bore with crisp rifling it will make a good shooter. It still has about 50% of its bluing still intact. It also has it's cleaning rod and all of its sling swivels. The serial # is 358523 putting the receiver with a 1887 manufacture date. The breach block says model 1878 indicating that the breach block may have been replaced at some point. The trap door locks up nice and tight with no play in the mechanism. the stock is solid with no cracks and maintains many of the cartouche still visible.
