U S Model 1884 Springfield Armory 45 - 70

Description:
U.S.Model Trapdoor Rifle by Springfied Armory SN 495920, 45 - 70, 32 5/8 barrel with a partially bright and very good bore showing some scattered light pitting and otherwise strong rifling throughout.
Metal has mostly toned to a pleasant deep plum-brown patina with some areas of old oxidation, light dings and remnant streaks of blue along the barrel.
The lockplate also retains some hints of oil-quenched case-hardening while the inside of the breechblock retains nice colors and all markings remain mostly strong.
The triggerguard retains about 50% original bright blue and the smooth walnut stock remains in about very good plus condition retaining generous original oil finish with scattered light dings and some mild abrasions along the left side. 
The stock retains a legible 1890 acceptance cartouche on the left side, strong circled "P" proof behind the trggerguard and a prominent rack number on the right side of the buttstock "A / 61" 
The proper sights and hardware remain intact and the lock with three position tumbler seems to function normally.
