U.S. SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1879 TRAPDOOR CARBINE

Description:
22 inch round barrel chambered in 45-70 caliber with a shiny bore with frosted 3 groove rifling. Sights include a pinned blade front and an updated "C" marked Buffington rear with an 1890 style protective band. Barrel is a mottled brown gray patina with faint markings. Breech block is also a mottled gray/brown patina and is marked "U.S.Model 1873". Lockplate is a gray/brown with visible markings. The walnut stock appears cleaned long ago with impressions throughout and no visible markings. There are no cleaning rods but the shell extractor is present in the butt. Mechanically fine and should be a good shooter.
