Description:
22 inch round barrel chambered in 45-70 caliber with a bright shiny bore with strong 3 groove rifling. Sights include a pinned blade front and correct "C" marked 1879 carbine rear. Most thinning barrel blue remains with crisp markings. Dull gray breech block is marked "U.S.Model 1873". Crisp markings on the lockplate. Some light oxidation on the blued lockplate and hammer. Walnut stock is in good condition with some minor handling mars and a crisp cartouche dated "1887" and the "P" in the circle proof. It has the cleaning rods & shell extractor in the butt as well. Mechanically excellent. A good example of a Springfield Trapdoor carbine.
