Fantastic Springfield Armory M1 Garand Type 2 National Match as assembled in the early 1960s. Usual receiver markings: U.S. RIFLE CAL. .30 M1 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 5931792. All Springfield Armory components with National Match upgrades to include an "NM"-marked barrel, right side of the front sight, operating rod, and several components of the rear sight, including the horizontal adjustment knob, the sight base, and a hooded aperture sight (introduced 1962). Stock markings to include the boxed cartouche on the left side and the large encircled "P" on the front of the pistol grip. Standard trapdoor checkered buttplate. Disassembly shows a standard stock without glass bedding, an SA-marked trigger group and a barrel dated 10-55. Complete with an unmarked green khaki sling.
Condition:
Excellent original condition with nearly 99% of the parkerizing. Handguard and stock with only a small number of handling marks consistent with a rifle that was carefully used in competitive match shooting. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. A classic M1 Garand National Match Type 2 rifle assembled in early 1960s with all correct components.
