Westernfield Model SB 880 C - Takedown - Semi- Auto .22 Rifle - Montgomery Ward's line of Westerfield rifles were manufactured for them by a number of firearms manufactuers. This model was manufactured first by Springfield similar to the model 87 . In later years after the Springfield / Savage merger it became the Savage model 87J . The model 87 began production in 1938 disc. in 1948 and began production as the Savage 87J . This is a pre 1968 model NSN. The Westernfield line was discontinued in 1986. Smooth pistol grip style stock and forend with sling studs and butt plate. 20 In. long barrel with open adj. rear sight and a front bead sight. Tubular magazine will accept 20 Short - High Speed - 17 Long and 15 LR ammo. Bore is clean and bright. Barrel and receiver are retaining approx. 90% original bluing . Stock and forend are in very good condition with minimal handling markets. Includes a new soft sleeve. Does not appear to have had much use. Nice find for our Store Brand collectors.
