c. 1900 STEVENS Arms Co. “IDEAL” No. 44 Rifle C&R Single Shot Falling Block Varmint Rifle!
Description: c. 1900 STEVENS Arms Co. “IDEAL” No. 44 Rifle C&R Single Shot Falling Block Varmint Rifle! Here we present a Stevens Arms & Tool Co. Ideal No. 44 Rifle, made around the turn of the 20th Century in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts. This rifle cannot be precisely dated since the Stevens factory records were burned in their entirety. Production began in 1894 and went on through 1916. This rifle is chambered in .32 Long Rimfire, a very effective medium bore cartridge with minimal recoil. This rifle was manufactured right around the time that Stevens Arms & Tool Company was becoming the largest producer of sporting firearms in the world. By 1915, Stevens was a leader in the American arms business as a maker of target and small game hunting guns. This rifle would have been great for small game and target shooting. It features a hefty part-octagonal, part-round barrel and adjustable sights. The top of the barrel is marked “J. STEVENS A&T CO./CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS U.S.A PAT.APR 17.94”. The left side of the barrel is marked “32 Long RF” for the cartridge it chambers. The overall condition is very good. The iron parts have a gray-brown finish/patina. The markings are clear. The numbers match. The walnut stock remains in great shape. The bore is semi-bright with good rifling. The action is excellent. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 24 inches. Caliber: .32 Long Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1100 #190941 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
