RARELY SEEN STEVENS IDEAL ENGLISH MODEL 44 1/2 RIFLE
26” rapid taper half octagon barrel with Stevens embossed hard rubber shotgun style butt plate.
The “English Model” was made in limited numbers in rim fire calibers and in .25-20 and .32-20 center fire calibers.
This particular rifle was originally 25-20 SS, and later professionally re-bored and re-chambered to 32-20 wcf.
Examples are few and far between. This is a fine rifle with nearly all the deep blue remaining on the barrel.
The receiver retains most of the original case color.
Excellent stock and forend with tight wood to metal fit, accurate, excellent bore.
Lyman blade/bead front sight. Ladder type rear sight.
Tight action, as would be expected on a 44 ½ receiver. English proof marks visible.
