The SCAR-17S was initially developed for use by the special forces as a high-performance battle rifle and has been released as a commercial variant to bring that performance to the civilian market. The rifle features a reversible charging handle and adjustable gas block along with flip-up iron sights and a full top rail for mounting desired optics. FN has updated the SCAR design to include a non-reciprocating charging handle (NRCH). The non-reciprocating charging handle prevents hand strikes by the charging handle during cycling, allowing a wider degree of shooting stances to be used.

This limited edition model features a woodland camouflage pattern. One 20-round magazine is included. These rifles were used by the manufacturer as demonstration models and may show signs of wear and light handing.
