This is a great opportunity to get a very good deal on a NEW Floor Model 1892 Alaskan Takedown. This take-down carbine has a 16\" barrel and is chambered in .357MAG. This rifle was purchased new from Taylor‚‚s and Co. as a scratch and dent model. It arrived with the small dent in the wood near the rear tang that is visible in the pictures. It appears to be a tooling mark that happened at the factory when they were affixing the stock to the receiver. The rifle has been a floor model but has had the zip tie seen in the pictures holding the lever to the gun so that it could not be cycled while people were looking at it. The rifle is unfired. There is a slight mark where it appears to have been loaded for test firing. We see no additional marks, scratches or other wear. These take-down rifles have a reputation of being very tight and difficult to separate the barrel and magazine tube from the receiver. This one is tight but we have taken it down without damage. This Taylor‚‚s & Company 1892 was manufactured by Chiappa Firearms. This rifle was designed to be used with Hornady LEVERevolution ammunition. The rear sight is a picatinny integrated rail peep sight with a fiber optic front sight. The stock and forend are made of wood with a black textured finish, the comfortable butt stock has a rubber recoil pad. The Alaskan is an excellent rifle for hunting, packing, flying, and the like.
