SOLD With an early serial #241020, .50 cal., 28” octagon barrel with a bright excellent bore. The barrel retains about 99% original blue with a few scattered speckles of light oxidation staining and a few faint handling marks. The lock retains a nice amount of original case-hardened colors with the front of the lockplate muting to a brown patina with some small spots of light oxidation overall and the brass mountings have aged to an attractive warm mustard patina with some small spots of light tarnish. The American walnut halfstock with left side cheekpiece rates very good with numerous fine handling marks and small spots of finish wear primarily around the buttplate, from field use also. The synthetic ramrod with lightly-tarnished brass tip and original sights are intact, may have had a tnag peep sight as left side of top tang has a cut in thr wood for a tang peep sight, And the double set triggers and action appear to function well mechanicall, action is crisp and strong.
