Serial #T00265, .45 ACP, 5 inch barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is the Model 1911 "Black Army" pistol manufactured by Turnbull Manufacturing in Bloomfield, NY Starting in 2021. From the Turnbull Restoration site: "Turnbull Restoration is proud to announce a limited edition recreation of the legendary Model 1911 Black Army. These semi-automatic pistols in .45 ACP are polished and finished in the late-production, 1918 "Black Army" style, including charcoal blued slide and frame. Our period-correct finishing techniques invoke the World War I heritage of the 1911’s original blackened finish. Colt used this in lieu of the standard polish and Charcoal Blue finish of the period in order to boost wartime production." The WWI-style 1911 features a 5 inch barrel, WWI style sights with semi-circle notch rear, short & wide spur hammer, early style grip safety, hand checkered, double diamond American Black Walnut grips, period correct ejection port, and solid one piece steel trigger. Turnbull branded this recreation with the Turnbull "Turning Bull" trademark on the left slide behind the serrations and a Turnbull inspection stamp on the frame. In excellent plus, like new condition, this example does not appear to have been fired since leaving the factory and has had minimal handling wear retaining virtually all 99% plus original finish on the slide and frame with grips in similar excellent plus condition. It comes in a custom hard plastic case with two, two-tone magazines , Turnbull manual and paperwork. As of 2023 Turnbull was no longer manufacturing any 1911 pistols.
