Winchester Model 1876 by Uberti, 50-95 with Extensive Reloading Supplies
Description: Winchester model 1876 by Uberti in the BIG 50-95 Winchester black powder cartridge. The "Centennial" rifle. It is a big, heavy, robust rifle with octagon barrel. This rifle has been custom tuned to address issues common to the Uberti 1876. The low quality factory sights have been replaced with a fine gold bead front and barrel mounted peep that works exceptionally well, even in low light. The stiff trigger has been slicked for an acceptable and crisp trigger pull. The mag tube has been shortened about an inch and secured with a more robust peg to prevent it from creeping forward as a result of the stout recoil that the big 50-95 delivers. And the firing pin rod has been polished to reduce friction and allow for greater primer strike speed. Condition is excellent with just a few very minor handling/use marks on the wood. This rifle was designed to knock over buffaloes, so shooting it aint no joke. It is not for everybody. If you are recoil shy or lack the arm strength to steady a beefy rifle, this gun is not for you. If you like touching off a big charge of black powder, hearing the gun roar and knocking the hell out of steel plates, you will love the 50-95. The biggest impediment to owning the 50-95 is the lack of brass anywhere on the market. But this rifle comes with over 100 pieces of 50-95 brass (including 50 Alaskan that can be cut down). For reasons unknown, Uberti bored these rifles to a .514" groove diameter instead of .509" like the original Wichesters. Meaning that the standard .510" bullets give poor accuracy. This rifle comes with the depicted assortment of .515" bullets shown, and a box of .513s. It also comes with a .515" sizing die to"fatten" .510" bullets to proper size. Also included are RCBS reloading dies, including a case mouth expander to .515". Also included but not shown is a partial bag (500 or more) of 50 cal vegetable wads. In short, this rifle comes ready to load and shoot. You just need to supply the black powder and primers. Are all those extras a big deal?...YES!!! The brass alone cost $4 apiece IF you are lucky enough to find any. To be totally honest, this rifle is for the guy who likes to reload, experiment, and tinker. That's what's required to run the 1876 in 50-95. Buyer contributes $75 toward cost of insured ground shipping. 3 day non-firing, non-disassembly inspection period runs from receipt by your FFL. I am already way underwater here so its take it or leave it at this price. To my knowledge, this is the only one of these Uberti 50-95s currently available for sale on the internet. Original box and factory brochure included. Feel free to ask any questions. Price: $2,000.00 Shipping: $75.00 Contact Seller |
