Remington model 722 -- .222 Remington Magnum!!!! ----NOT a 222 Remington
Description: Very rare caliber .222 Rem Mag, NOT to be confused with 222 Remington, in Remington model 722. Very nice older gun, built between 1958-& 1962. Bore is excellent, wood and metal are very good, above average for a gun of this age. It does show a few marks on the wood but I found no cracks or deep scratches. Metal floor plate shows carrying wear, the rest of the metal shows good bluing. Orginal sights are in very good condition. Redfield base and rings. A very good gun to put back or to shoot. Email or text or call works. I ship via USPS priority mail FFL to FFL. Fifty dollars shipping and insurance to lower 48 states. Please know your state laws concerning owning this firearm, and do know if you are not able to own or purchase this gun. NOTE-- Please read..... After several questions concerning my gun I made the listing inactive while I did more research. This is what I have learned, the Remington model 721/ 722s made in 1958-1959 and maybe newer, had a transition barrel on them without the barrel boss, which is where the rear site was dovetailed into the barrel. This gun has a date code on it of May 1959 (KF) It also has the newer sites on it which is correct, they look like the same sites that are on the model 700. At the same time that the transition barrel was made they also shorten the barrel by 2 inches, so this 722 in 222 magnum has a correct 24 inch barrel. The receiver and barrel and sites are correct. Next came the research on the stock which is a checkered walnut stock, the standard stock for the 721/722 was a plain piece of wood. Remington made some stocks with upgraded wood and put them on some 722Bs and they made stocks that they called ADL and BDL. These stocks where not marked as such so you just had to know what you where looking at and some where marked in the stock channel. The stock on this 722 is a BDL not to be confused with a model 700 BDL which is different. I am sure several people will not accept my findings but this is what my research has taken me to believe. If you know that I am wrong in my thinking leave me a message, if you think I am wrong give me some proof, I can accept information that shows me other wise. I have spent three days looking and talking to knowledgeable remington people and reading about the model 721/722/725s and this is to my best knowledge a correct and rare Remington 722 in .222 Remington Magnum with a transition barrel and a BDL stock. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and thank you for looking at my gun.
