WEATHERBY MARK V .300 WBY MAG – 1964, GERMAN MADE, vintage firearms inc
Description: General Specs: Weatherby, 1964, .300 WBY MAG, 8lbs. 4oz., LOP 13 9/16″ Serial Number: P6405 This Weatherby Mark V serial number P6405 was manufactured in West Germany in 1964. The bore is excellent. The rifle has a quick release magazine floor plate, a 54-degree bolt lift and a crisp no creep trigger breaking at 4.2lbs. Weatherby’s are well known for their strength, this magnum rifle has a nine-lug bolt and uses the durable ‘Three-rings-of-steel’ design for extra strength and structural integrity, it can handle the heaviest loads. The .300 Weatherby Magnum round was introduced in 1944 and is still considered one of the most versatile big game rounds available. Taming that awesome firepower is a stock with a Monte Carlo comb and cheek piece with nicely figured Walnut furniture with rosewood grip and forend caps and hand-cut skip line checkering, there is some crazing in the wood finish that is hard to see in the photos but is there, mostly on the forend base and pistol grip cap, and bellow the cheek piece. VFI can restore the wood for you if you choose. The forend features a flat bottom making this a gun that is ideally suited to shooting from sandbags and branches while also providing an ergonomic hold for offhand shooting. The receiver bridges are tapped, ready for your choice of scopes, Vintage Firearms Inc has a large selection of pre-owed scopes. Please call if you would like to know what we could pair with this gun. This rifle offers legendary Weatherby performance that has earned its reputation as being the ‘world’s strongest bolt action’.
