Weatherby Southgate, CA 300 Wby Mag Profusely Engraved
Description: This is a highly engraved 300 Weatherby magnum with a Weatherby Imperial 4 X 81 scope that has been engraved to the max as well. The Buehler scope mounts and rings are completely engraved as are the Stith mounts for the rifle sling. There is a bull elk on the bottom floor plate and a bull elk on the right hand side of the chamber. The bolt is totally engraved and it appears that there is a rose engraved on the end. The bottom of the bolt handle knob is checkered to ensure maximum grip while operating. The top of the barrel is fully engraved to the end of the stock. The stock has beautiful and artful carving and checkering featuring oak leaves. The right side of the butt stock has a leaping impala of ivory inlaid in it centered in a spearhead made of exotic wood. There are initials discretely placed in the bottom center of the forend in different exotic wood. And the forend is capped with a beautiful piece of rosewood. The grip cap appears to be rose wood with an ivory spearhead in the center. It has an oil finish to eliminate glare that may occur while hunting reclusive and cagey animals in the wild. The Monte Carlo stock is certainly signature Weatherby and ends with a period recoil pad. During my contact with Weatherby they told me that the gun was made in August of 1960, but that there no records from guns of that era. What a rifle! SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
