Westley Richards bolt action rifle in .425 Westley Richards Magnum with a 26” barrel. Length of pull of 14 1/8” to an orange rubber recoil pad.
The rifle sports a Prince of Wales stock, single-stage trigger on a standard-length Mauser 98 action, two-position flag safety to accommodate a scope, push button floorplate release, drop box magazine capable of holding 4 down (4+1), jeweled bolt assembly, single steel recoil lug, ramp front sight with a white tip blade, and an island rear sight with one leaf. The wrist and forend are checkered with mullered borders. Drilled and tapped receiver. Sling swivel stud on the toe line and on the barrel. The barrel reads “WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO LONDON”. Serial number marked on the receiver ring. Circa mid 1950s rifle with Birmingham proof marks and caliber marked on the barrel immediately ahead of the receiver ring.
Blued barreled action and furniture. Straight grained walnut stock with minor figure. The rifle remains in excellent original condition other than the newer recoil pad. Bluing in excellent condition. The stock and checkering show evidence of light field use with a couple compression marks on the forend checkering. Excellent chamber and bore with sharp and crisp lands. A high condition dangerous game rifle by an iconic English maker.
The rifle comes with reloading dies, 40 pieces of brass, and 80 Woodleigh Weldcore soft nose bullets.
