Offered for purchase at a new reduced price is a Westley Richards single shot rifle with a Martini Patent Removable action with a Patent No 9711 detachable barrel #787. Action in excellent condition showing 95% blueing.Left side of action showing serial No. 5123. Right side of action shows assembly # 3905 and also marked " Patent Removable action". Under side of action as well as removable barrel and action assembly have matching S.N "23". Top of barrel ahead of rear site dovetail marked " Westley Richards & Co. London". Rear facing triangle noting removable barrel also on top of barrel. British proof marks on right side of barrel noting Nitro Proofed and 300 caliber with a charge of cordite 7-140 max. Left side of action marked " Westley Richards 300 Sherwood". Rear barrel site has a blank in the dovetail slot . NO rear barrel site. A front barrel site with cover marked AgA and a rear action fully adjustable for windage and elevation tang site. It is also marked AgA. The barrel crown is treaded and is covered with a screw on metal cap. Blueing on barrel is 85% with shinny area just around rear site dovetail. No rust or pitting. The bore is bright with strong rifling and no pitting. The stock looks to be refinished English walnut with repaires where a rear stock tang site was located. Also has pin holes filled with a black material. British sling eyes on barrel and stock. Both butt stock and forearm has original checkering. Rifle weights 6.2 lbs with a 27.5 inch barrel, light weight and perfectly balanced. Also included with this purchase is a "as new" 3 die set by RCBS of loading dies with shell holder. Also 100 rounds of new Bertram Brass plus 13 rounds of once fired Bertram brass. Brass is in 20 round Bertram labeled boxes. All for the 300 Sherwood caliber. Wood Condition: Fair. Patches where rear tang site was located. Also pin holes filled with a black material. Wood looks to have been refinished. Solid with no cracks or splits.
Bore Condition: Very good with bright and strong rifleing. No rust or pitting.
