This .58 caliber Original - E Whitney - 1844 - Musket has a tapered round 1-1/4" to 7/8" x 32-1/2" barrel with a fair bore with sporadic pitting throughout. The P grade Walnut stock is in good condition and fitted with a mix of brass and steel furniture. The large military percussion lock with E Whitney, US and N Haven 1844 stamped on the lock plate, is activated by double set triggers. Please Note: There is pitting on the barrel around the bolster. A wood chip is missing at the bottom of the butt stock. A crack is seen at the back of lock plate and just ahead of the patch box. Length of pull is 13-7/8". Good wood to metal fit - made by E Whitney. Condition: Poor to Fair. Overall length is 48-1/2”, and weight is 9.0 lbs. Our stock number is #P-81-68.
