Here's a unique piece of Winchester history in one of its most classic lever guns: A first-year (1901) production .32 Winchester Special Model 1894. On some early-production .32 W.S. and .30-30 rifles, Winchester utilized pre-1898 manufacture receivers, including this one (receiver serial no. 144222). The 26" round barrel features a "First Type" "Smokeless" elevation-adjustable buckhorn rear sight specific to the .32 W.S. chambering. Stock and forend show dents and dings common for an experienced vintage rifle. Overall bluing is approximately 40%, with no significant pitting. Appears to have all original parts. There's one minor dent on the full-length magazine tube. Action is tight with minor lever play; bore is bright and rifling is crisp.
