Nice Winchester 1892. Manufactured in 1915 according to serial number. This rifle has the original saddle ring and ladder rear sight. The metal and wood appear to be refinished, which can be explained by the stamp of the Argentine FMAP. From information I was recently provided by a well versed collector of Winchester Rifles, these 1892's were purchased by the Argentine FMAP in the 1950's, refurbished at their factory and many were put into service in Argentina, specifically their railroad police. In later years, these 92's were imported back into the US by Century Arms, which this rifle bears the stamp of on its lower tang. It IS an original Winchester 92 none the less, just with an interesting travel story behind it.
