Very scarce Winchester Model 1894 SRC manufactured in 1913.
A number of 94’s were sold to foreign countries, including Canada during WW1. This model went to the city of Toronto. These carbines were used for a variety of purposes, including by guards at Toronto’s Don Jail, Police and/or WW1 Security over plants and essential facilities during the war.
The bore is bright with good rifling, Metal retains about 70% of the original bluing, and the wood is in decent condition considering age with several handling marks and dings. A very minor hairline crack is noted on left and right side of the butt stock by the receiver (easily repairable). Has proper saddle ring as well as rear ladder sight. Butt stock is stamped “City of Toronto”.
This would be a very fine and rare addition to a collection.
This firearm was imported from Canada and bears a discreet import mark.
