This is a Winchester 94 Lone Star Commemorative rifle. It has a gold-toned receiver with a blued round/half octagon barrel. They were manufactured in 1970 to commemorate Texas, with only 55,259 produced (total rifles & carbines). It has an adjustable rear sight and a saddle ring. Gold highlights include the receiver with engraved stars, the lever, the cap on the magazine tube, the fore tip, and the curved butt plate. They each have a Lone Star Commemorative medallion in the stock and etchings which include: TEXAS, and Under Six Flags. Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked "WINCHESTER MODEL 94 30-30 WIN. / MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL". The right shoulder of the barrel is marked "LONE STAR COMMEMORATIVE". The upper tang is marked "UNDER SIX FLAGS". The grip cap is marked "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS" around the circumference and "TEXAS". The sides of the receiver have stars lining the borders and on the left side, there is a star in the middle of "1845" and "1970". The right side of the buttstock has an inlay with the heads of six prominent Texans and is marked "LONE STAR COMMEMORATIVE". This example comes with the original box.
