#4663 Winchester 1887 Lever Action shotgun, 30” x 12gauge
Description:
#4663 Winchester 1887 Lever Action shotgun, 30” x 12gauge with well above average bore (about a 7 on a scale of 10) and a smooth tight action. The exterior has no finish remaining, but is smooth grey with no pitting of mention and VG markings; the wood is decent with normal bumps and bruises of 120+ years of use, and it does have a slip-on recoil pad that has replaced the factory steel buttplate. The recoil pad itself may be very collectible in that it is obviously a US military pad, probably for the Winchester Model 1897 Trench Gun and is marked with the Flaming Bomb Ordinance logo. Being a 12gauge, this is a very popular item for the “Cowboy Action” genre when loaded with lower pressure cartridges. VG-VG+. $1295
