ANTIQUE SERIAL NUMBER 1873 .44-40 CALIBER MUSKET, #369XXX, MADE 1891. This is a good example that has not been messed with. Fine very aged barrel blue with fine Winchester markings, ladder rear sight with slide intact and correct front sight. The receiver is mostly aged brown with good blue on the loading gate. Butt stock and forend show normal handling for one of these, but is basically sound and shows no signs of ever having been sanded or even cleaned. Correct swivels and original dust cover intact. Excellent bright bore! Many muskets were made post-1898, but this one is an antique with a nice aged appearance.
