Vintage Winchester 1873 38-40 win with 24" octagon barrel
Description:
Who doesn’t love a piece of history? Here for sale is a Winchester 1873 in .38-40 looks to be manufactured in 1909. It sports a 24” octagonal barrel. The finish is mostly intact on the rifle it is thin in some spots, the wood has some character marks on it but no visible cracks in the buttstock or fore end. The trap door in the buttstock is smooth and not seized. Mechanically everything looks to function as it should. I did add a picture of the bore to the best of my abilities. It does look like it has some rust in the bore but does not appear to be pitted, the rifling is still strong in the bore. But we are talking about a 100+ year old rifle here. I'm sure this rifle would clean up a bit more but I truly believe that some things are best left alone. If you have any questions please reach out more pictures on request.
