Winchester 1873 44-40
Description: Winchester Model 1873 with 24 In. round barrel in 44-40. Address line worn but readable. 44WCF stamped on top of barrel and bottom of brass elevator. The side plates are engraved with buffalo scene, old but I won't say original. Wood is very good as refinished. Tight and good fit. Bore is fair. I have shot this rifle some and it has a problem with the elevator sticking at the top and you have to push it down just a bit before you close the action. Ser. 275696. Mfg 1888. Antique.
